Buying a home
A general home inspection looks at plumbing in passing. It usually doesn't put a camera in the sewer line, and that line is where some of the biggest repair bills hide. Mike explains why buyers need a plumbing inspection, and his checklist for new homeowners covers the first things to check after moving in.
What we check
- Every sink, toilet, tub and shower: leaks, flow, drainage and worn parts
- Water heater age, temperature, relief valve and venting
- Exposed supply and drain lines, shut-off valves and outdoor faucets
- Water pressure
- The main sewer line by camera, when needed
After the inspection
You get a plain list of what's fine, what needs attention soon and what can wait, so you can plan or negotiate with the facts.
